2011 : DVD

fordson_faith_fasting_footballFordson shows how other religious teenagers have to overcome a fast similar to Bahá’ís. This movie focuses on Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan, which once had mostly white students but now is 98% Arab-American. Fordson has a football game with a rival school during the last ten days of Ramadan, the Muslim month-long fast that requires no eating or drinking between sunrise and sunset. Fasting is a challenge for anyone, regardless of their religion. It is particularly difficult for people who play sports. It is not easy to be physically fit and safe while playing sports and not eating or drinking during daylight. The team holds firm to their religious fast during Ramadan despite the challenges.
